Elimination of extreme mould and reduction of damp in a historic apartment
Our next project focused on removing extreme mould and reducing damp in an apartment in a historic house where mould had affected almost every room. In historic buildings, a common cause of these problems is the structure, which does not insulate adequately and creates thermal bridges.
First, we thoroughly removed the moldings and visible mold by scraping and cleaning the affected areas. We then applied an insulating coating of Alpha Inner, which not only prevents mold from reappearing, but also eliminates thermal bridging and reduces moisture. By doing this, we achieved a reduction in humidity and created the conditions for a healthier and more energy efficient home.
After the application of the coating, the walls of the apartment are insulated and thermal bridges are eliminated, which significantly contributes to savings on heating costs. The owners of the apartment in the historic building are now assured of a healthier environment, and have also received certification and a 5-year warranty from us.
