The Orlen Unipetrol refinery and petrochemical complex in Litvínov has taken another significant step forward in its strategy of modernization and efficiency improvement. It has successfully implemented innovative ALPHA TEMPER insulation technology in its operations. This modern thermal insulation coating is gradually replacing outdated types of insulation, bringing significant benefits in the form of increased safety and lower energy consumption.
In demanding industrial operations such as the Litvínov petrochemical complex, work safety is an absolute priority. Equipment and piping here commonly reach temperatures in the hundreds of degrees Celsius, which poses a constant risk to operating personnel.
Orlen Unipetrol RPA has therefore started using a special ALPHA TEMPER coating, which excels in its reflective insulation properties. Its application can radically reduce the surface temperature of hot technological units. This effectively protects workers from the risk of burns and becomes an absolutely key element in the prevention of serious work accidents.
In addition to protecting the health of employees, the new technology also brings significant economic and operational benefits. The coating effectively prevents heat loss, reducing the overall energy consumption of the equipment and generating significant energy cost savings.
A huge advantage of ALPHA TEMPER is that it can be applied while the plant is in full operation. The coating can be safely applied to surfaces with temperatures of up to +220 °C. Unipetrol thus avoids technological breaks and costly production downtime, which would otherwise be necessary when replacing conventional insulation.
This innovation is fully in line with the Litvínov site's long-term plan to increase efficiency, reduce emissions, and support overall production sustainability. By replacing old and less efficient materials with modern technologies, Orlen Unipetrol is not only strengthening its market competitiveness, but also actively fulfilling its environmental protection goals.
