The Olympia Brno shopping and entertainment center (Czech Republic) has undertaken a major renovation of its roof cladding. Instead of a lengthy and complete replacement of the roof, which was already nearing the end of its service life, the center's management chose a modern, efficient, and cost-effective solution.
A key element of the ongoing modernization is the application of the special ALPHA FLEXIBLE roof coating. This advanced material functions as a unique 3-in-1 system. First and foremost, it provides perfect waterproofing, reliably protecting the building from the elements and leaks.
It also functions as a reflective insulation layer. Its ability to reflect solar radiation delivers significant energy savings to the shopping center—in the winter, it helps reduce heating costs, and especially in the summer months, it dramatically cuts cooling expenses for the large interior spaces. Last but not least, this coating meets strict safety standards and holds BROOF T3 fire resistance certification, thereby enhancing the overall safety of the building.
The original roof cladding at Olympia Brno was nearing the end of its planned service life. The traditional approach would have required extensive and financially very demanding construction renovation, which could also have disrupted the normal operation of the entire complex.
However, thanks to the use of ALPHA FLEXIBLE technology, these complications were successfully avoided. The application of this innovative coating can extend the lifespan of the existing roof cladding by at least another 25 years. Olympia Brno thus demonstrates a modern approach to maintaining large commercial buildings—not only economically and safely, but also with a focus on long-term sustainability and energy efficiency.
