Unipetrol Litvínov streamlines operations and increases safety thanks to ALPHA TEMPER coating

Litvínov/Prague – The Orlen Unipetrol refinery and petrochemical complex in Litvínov is implementing the modern ALPHA TEMPER insulation technology from the Czech company ALPHA CZECH. This step is part of a broader strategy of modernization and increasing operational efficiency. The new thermal insulation coating not only replaces outdated types of insulation, but also significantly contributes to employee safety and reducing energy consumption.

Unipetrol Litvínov streamlines operations and increases safety thanks to ALPHA TEMPER coating - ALPHA CZECH, Revolutionary reflective insulating coatings

Key benefits and worker protection

Work safety is a top priority in industrial operations such as the Litvínov one. Orlen Unipetrol RPA uses a special ALPHA TEMPER coating for pipe insulation, which effectively protects workers from burns. Thanks to its reflective insulating properties, this coating can radically reduce the surface temperature of hot equipment and pipes. In operations where temperatures reach hundreds of degrees Celsius, such a measure is key to preventing work-related accidents.

Modernization of insulation and increased efficiency

The deployment of ALPHA TEMPER technology is also a way for Unipetrol to achieve higher operational efficiency. The coating prevents heat leakage, thereby reducing the energy intensity of the entire facility and contributing to energy cost savings. In addition, the application is possible even during full operation on surfaces with temperatures up to +220 °C, which eliminates the need for costly shutdowns.

This innovation fits into the long-term modernization plan of the Litvínov site, which focuses on increasing efficiency, reducing emissions and overall sustainability of production. By replacing old and less effective insulation materials, ORLEN Unipetrol not only increases safety, but also strengthens its competitiveness and meets environmental protection goals.

This project is further proof that investments in modern technologies and safety pay off and are necessary for the sustainable development of industrial enterprises in the 21st century.
