Mladá Boleslav/ Prague. ŠKODA AUTO has started applying modern reflective insulating coatings ALPHA FLEXIBLE to the roofs and skylights of its production halls at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav. This step is part of the carmaker's strategy aimed at improving working conditions for employees and increasing the energy efficiency of buildings. The main goal is to reduce the temperature inside the halls during the hot summer months and prevent them from overheating.
The new technology works on the principle of reflecting solar radiation. The special ALPHA FLEXIBLE coating with high reflection prevents heat from being absorbed by the roof covering, which leads to a significant reduction in the temperature under the roof. In industrial buildings such as production halls, this effect brings a significant drop in the internal temperature.
The coating was applied to the roof covering in Hall M13 as well as to the skylights, which are a significant source of heat. The treated surfaces thus contribute to maintaining a more stable and comfortable temperature in the interior, which has a direct impact on the working environment of employees. Especially in facilities with a high concentration of heat from production technologies and a large number of employees in one place, reducing the additional heat load from solar radiation represents a noticeable improvement.
In addition to increasing employee comfort, this measure also has a positive ecological and economic impact. By reducing the overheating of buildings, the need for active cooling using air conditioning units decreases, which leads to energy savings and reduced CO2 emissions. The long service life of these ALPHA FLEXIBLE coatings also ensures the protection of the roof covering and extends its durability.
